The First Step to Annihilating Your Debt…

| August 5, 2010 | 2 Comments

I imagine you are wondering about what new and amazing technique you are about to learn to erase your debt.  I mean it just has to be something that you have never ever heard of, something so unique and ground-breaking that once you read it you will have an “Ahaa” moment.

WRONG!

What I am about to tell you is not new or unique.  It is, however, amazing and it is the most important way to start your debt-free journey.

The First Step to Annihilating Your Debt, Bi’ithnillah, is to Make Du’a to Allah Subhana WaTa’ala.

Ask yourself this question: “Have I really been asking Allah Subhana WaTa’ala to help me rid of my debt?”

If you have then say Alhamdulillah, re-visit the etiquette of Du’a and renew your intention, and if you have, not then remember this:  In Surah Ghafir, Ayah 60 Allah Subhana WaTa’ala has said “Call upon me, and I will answer you!”  So we are instructed to make Du’a with the hope that it will be answered, and only Allah Subhana WaTa’ala knows the best way in which to answer the Du’a of His servant.

There are many Du’as that are from the Qur’an and Sunnah that you can recite, but I encourage you to memorize the Du’a below with the translation, and say it day and night, whenever you remember it, be it on the bus, while cooking, while walking from one room to another, as you get up from your Salah, as you lay your head to sleep… understand the meaning and feel the sweetness of this Du’a.

Translation: ‘O Allaah, I take refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, weakness and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debts and from being over powered by men.’

This Du’a was taken from http://www.makedua.com which is an electronic rendition of the book “Fortification of the Muslim”, also known as “The Little Du’a Book”.
